Ecommerce - Managing Promotions

It sets the terms: type: order total discount start and end date (mind that the end date is not included, so if you want the campaign to be valid on 20th Feb here you must choose 21st Feb) state enable REQUIRES COUPON tick yes. Be very careful here, there are companies that went out of business for forgetting to set this (and not checking anything for months, but it’s another story) cumulative: no, but not an issue if all campaigns require coupons max usage: how many times this promotion can be used by each user (as identified by his email/registration). -1 means unlimited all user max usage: same as above but in total. I.e. if the campaign is set to be used 10 times in total, once per user, then it won’t work for the 11th user. Again, -1 means unlimited description: just for yourself min order value/quantity: just what it seems to be min quantity for a product: doesn’t apply to your case discount: numeric value, e.g. 10 type: % (then it’s 10%) or amount (then it’s £10) apply discount: no effect for % discounts, while for fixed amount it means that £10 includes or not the VAT

once this is done, click on Save 09:51 and THEN, with the right promotion selected, you can click on Coupons 09:54 again, max usage is how many times the coupon can be used by anyone, -1 means unlimited. so for nominal coupons (e.g. code hellojohnsmith) can be set to 1, while for a broad campaign (e.g. code summerishere) can be set to -1 and the promotion limits would apply

just remember this: coupons must always be associated to a promotion. So either you create them from the promotion, as I’ve said above, or 09:56 first you create them, and then you associate them to an existing promotion
